At the opening plenary of the 17th Congress for the New Urbanism on Wednesday night in Denver, John Norquist (President/CEO of the CNU) introduced the award-winning short film "Built to Last" created by Chris Elisara, Drew Ward and myself (John Paget). The film was then played on two large theatre screens, to geat laughter (at the cow flatulence scene) and a raucous standing ovation by the end. Click here to see it on YouTube.
Just saw the film. It was fantastic. I have shared it on my facebook with others that are working to make our community a place for people, not cars.
I have been promoting these ideas for years and the only thing I would have included would be that democracy is strengthened in a community built for people.
